The
main
purpose of this website is to help me showcase what the students
are doing in the area of Industrial Arts. Technology has
allowed
me to use pictures and short videos and upload them to this website for
you to view.
If you are wondering why I am not using the
school website it is
because the school server will not hold videos as it is already too
full. That's okay though as I did not spend a whole lot of
money for my own hosting account, domain name, the software I use to
compress the videos, and of course my digital camera/camcorder.
As long as I can showcase our students/athletes and can
communicate with the parents and community about what it is that we do
in the shop area, then it is money well spent.
I will be able to show you processes and
products with the students who
are working on them. You will see first hand what it is we
do.
This is a good chance for you to look over our shoulder as we
work. In classes like power mechanics, residential wiring,
and masonry we do not have finished products so to speak. By
filming and using pictures I can show you what takes place in those
classes.
I
will be compressing the videos down to "dial-up" speed so that people
who only have dial-up will be able to load them without a long, long
wait. The only problem with doing this is that it will take
away
from the quality a little bit.
I will also be able to post items in the area of
sports or training, or
anything else that relates to our school district. I hope this benefits
